THE ENCHANTMENT OF GREAT SMALL PEOPLES OF URGELL, NALEC
ES DESPERTAR - ALLOTAJEMNET TOURISM - (NALEC-LLEIDA)
The Chamber of Commerce of Lleida has made a selection of the 10 charming villages of the province of Lleida. The publication highlights Nalec, Taüll, Guimerà, Llimiana, Esterri d'Àneu, Ager, Olius, Sant Guim de la Plana, the Pobla de Cérvoles and Martinet de Cerdanya as the most beautiful villages in the province.
The unknown lands of the interior of Lleida hide one of the prettiest villages in Catalonia, Nalec, in the Urgell. Located on the left bank of the Corb River, Nalec is the smallest town in the Urgell region, with a hundred inhabitants and 107 houses. Full of charming corners, the church of Santiago, dated at the end of the 18th century, crowns the hill on which the municipality rests. Among the small discoveries offered by a walk through the streets of the municipality highlights the fountain of the friends of Nalec, built with the remains of stone from an old oil mill. Between Nalec and Ciutadilla is the waterfall known as La Pecera, where the water falls through a wall four meters high and 40 meters wide. The small town also hides several stone cabins, constructions of the twentieth century that farmers used to shelter from the inclemency of the weather.
The surroundings of the village are no less attractive. The historical-medieval towns such as Guimerà and Ciutadella complete the obligatory visit to all the surroundings that make up the Cistercian Route, Vallbona de les Monges (chosen Catalan favorite 2018 by the Catalan Agency for Heritage contest), Rocallaura, Verdú and a long etc.
